UES team visits Iran Oil and gas Show in Tehran
UES team visits Iran Oil and gas Show in Tehran

1 Iran has one of the world's largest oil reserves and is the home to the second-largest gas reserves. With huge reserves coupled with a large consumer market, Iran is playing a major role in the global energy industry. This unique position means years of ongoing development potentials. It thus provides us the right business environment to pursue our vision of becoming the leading private energy group in the region. Iran is the second largest OPEC producer and the fifth largest globally (after Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United States and China). Its oil sector is one of the oldest in the world.

The Ministry of Petroleum, which has control over the National Iranian Oil Company, reports to the president with oversight from the parliament. But the dividing line between the ministry and Iran’s oil company is often indistinct. The position of NIOC managing director was only established in 2000 as a separate post. But in reality, as a vestige of the past, the two institutions still share personnel and offices.

1

The Ministry also controls the National Iranian Gas Company, the National Iranian Petrochemical Company, and the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company. In 2006, the ministry submitted a bill to parliament proposing that NIOC manage all four companies. But the bill did not pass because Ahmadinejad’s supporters did not want the ministry to create more autonomous companies.

Over 100,000 trade visitors from some 40 countries/regions are expected to attend the show.

Some 2000 participating companies from 35 nations

7 Country Group Pavilions from Germany, France, China, Republic of Korea, Italy, Russia and Turkey

Iran Oil Show is a show for the regional market and major players like Shell, BP. TOTAL, and ENI will be present. Top prominent officials from Ministry of Petroleum, NIOC, NIGC, NIPC and NIORDC will also be at the exhibition to meet and mingle.

Organized by NIOC, the country's market leader in Oil & Gas Industry.
