United Engineering Services LLC (UES) and Azd Technologies LLC (AZD) have signed an MOU to launch the first Nano-Diamond Coating Production Line in the Sultanate.
For the past 12 months, AZD and UES have been working towards a first-of-its-kind Nano-Diamond coating production line in the GCC by applying customized industrial-grade Nano-Diamond technology, which increases the lifespan of metal components used in industrial applications substantially.
Tariq Al Barwani, Managing Director of UES, said, “The Vision behind UES was to provide the Sultanate of Oman with a truly global leader in Engineering and Manufacturing solutions, which is in line with the country’s 2040 vision. When approached by Azd Technologies, UES fully welcomed the concept and the requirement for such a high-end coating application within Oman. AZD’s concept complements our goals toward knowledge and technologies transfer and creating real In-Country Value within the local market. The first coating line has been established within our facility in Rusayl Industrial estate to support this New Technology in Oman.”
According to Mr Reid Larson, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Azd Technologies: “Our first Area of concentration is the application of Nano Diamond Coatings on various components related to Down Hole Well and Surface Equipment for the Oil and Gas industry since these components are a major contribution in Oil Production. Increasing lifespan and reducing downtime using AZD Technologies and UES Engineering capabilities we will be able to provide the industry with a final product that outperforms the existing coatings available and maximize In-Country Values”.
AZD Nano-Diamonds Technology is protected by over 20 global patents and is in use by numerous companies across different industries worldwide. Nano-Diamonds have many of the characteristics of actual diamonds, namely extreme hardness and high thermal conductivity. This means that coated components are better suited to high-wear environments, have low friction coefficients, and perform better in high-temperature applications. These attributes are crucial in allowing United Engineering Services to supply its customers with industry-leading components.
“Today, any high wear-resistant metal components must be sent outside of the Sultanate to be strengthened. By having a Nano-Diamond coating Production and Process line in Oman, the local market will be able to lead in a rapidly growing sector and significantly contribute towards ICV and job creation,” Said His Highness Azzan Kais Tarik Al-Said, Co-founder, and CEO of Azd Technologies.
Because the AZD Nano-Diamond coating is safe for humans to work with, and does not damage aquatic life, it has been approved for use by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Unlike traditional coating methods, the Nano-Diamond coating contains no harmful chemicals and is environmentally safe. With safety and performance in mind, UES will be able to offer a unique set of products to its well-established customer base.
About Azd Technologies
Azd Technologies was formed in 2019 to implement premier Nano-Diamond technology in the GCC through the Sultanate. AZD Nano-Diamonds are designed to yield the highest performance at the lowest possible price, making them usable in a wide range of applications. Any metal components that break down in high wear environments are eligible for coating, which means the product is applicable in many sectors, and across a wide array of industrial equipment. AZD’s goal is to decrease downtime and its associated costs for industrial companies in the Sultanate and help foster the export of Omani products to the entire GCC.
