A strategic partnership has been announced between United Engineering Services LLC (UES) the engineering arm of the MB Group LLC and SAS Oil Waste Services LLC (SAS-OWS). The partnership includes UES and SAS joining to locally manufacture and provide logistics support for SAS’ unique oil waste treatment products
This new In-Country-Value partnership will deliver significant benefits to the oil & gas sector, including refineries and specifically drilling companies. The benefits to Oman’s economy include knowledge and skills transfer to talented Omani Youth, in addition to local chemical manufacture and a host of other benefits along the value chain.
Mr. Tariq Al Barwani, Managing Director of UES, said: “UES is always interested in delivering value to Oman’s Oil and Gas sector. SAS’ oil waste treatment products treat any produced drill cutting waste (Oil-Based Mud or Water-Based Mud), thereby enhancing oil and gas drilling and improving the overall operations performance.
“The Vision behind UES was to provide the Sultanate a truly global engineering solutions provider to companies in the world’s most technically demanding industries. Oil and Gas is one of these industries, and I am pleased that UES can transfer a high-technology solution to our clients while delivering In-Country-Value. Additionally, we have been concentrating on aligning our operations with Oman’s Vision 2040’s priority ‘Environment and Natural Resources’. We aim to do our part to ensure the Sustainability of Natural Resources by using balanced methods and treating waste in a responsible manner.”
Mazin Al-Shibli, Director of SAS-OWS (Oman) commented, “By partnering with UES, SAS can provide local engineering manufacturing, local chemicals manufacturing, and associated logistics, services, and support using local human resources and local infrastructure thus maximizing ICV at every level”.
John Harrison, Director of SAS-OWS, added “ESG is currently transforming the international Oil & Gas industry. There is increasing regulatory demand on the treatment of generated oil waste at the rig site and on the remediation of decades of legacy waste accumulated over time.
SAS is targeting the supply of best-in-class innovative technologies to Oman and the wider GCC region to provide cost-effective solutions to oilfield-related waste issues. With a UES strategic agreement, the aim is to provide integrated service packages that can deliver small footprint, mobile, low energy but high throughput processes for economic remediation activities and which promote the recovery of resources from wastes”.
